A Move to Extra

My sister moved from some old PlusNet product to PlusNet extra earlier this month. Does this mean she will move to ADSL2+ ?
Here broadband connection tab on the portal says:-
Phone exchange:
    BISHOPS STORTFORD
Estimated line speed:
    5Mb (This may vary between 4Mb and 8Mb) - Checked on 2011-08-27 13:28:04
Current line speed:
    21 Mb

Re: A Move to Extra

You could also post the full router stats - speeds, noise margin and attenuation which would definitely confirm it

Re: A Move to Extra

Looks like you are not on 21CN but you could ask to be moved, however I'd be a little wary if the extension is causing a reduction in speeds - 21CN seems more problematic with iffy setups.
Is there a reason for using an extension? Having the router in the master socket and then using a long ethernet cable/homeplugs/wireless to get the connection where needed is a far better solution.
Have you checked your telephone number using https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html ? You might be able to get FTTC.

Re: A Move to Extra

Cheers Jelv....
FTTC is not an option for her as she is more interested in getting something at the right price  - hence PlusNet Extra.
They do need to sort out the telephone extension situation, but I fear that will be down to me to do next time I visit - perhaps I'll leave here were she is (ADSL) until I can get to look at the wiring situation. I know she'd rather have stability over speed.
Thanks to you and Oldjim
