short number format

I received a fraud alert SMS from first direct on 86101 but I cannot respond as the reply fails due to "phone number formatted incorrectly".

Is there a work around to this?

I'm afraid its not possible to send messages to short code numbers.

Possibly phone their fraud department, I'm sure they have one, and ask them if it's a genuine message?

I would never, ever, reply to one of those messages even when it is possible.

yep, sorted by calling their help line. It was a genuine sms.
