replacement Sim card

Hello to all, I have a question to ask, My wifes phone has had it so I've bought a new one for her, the trouble is for some reason she keeps getting calls from different parts of the world ,she never gives her number out to anyone unless they are family, I thought I would ask for a new sim which I phoned about this morning , I was told to change the current number it would cost £25, They sead they would send a new sim but we would have to keep the old number. We have been with Plusnet for a realy long time and have Broadband and two sim only deals monthly.

Could someone advise is this correct? will I honestly have to keep the old number?

regards jono

That's probably about right. However, why not just request an additional Sim (which will come with a new number) then cancel the monthly contract for the old one. Paying for an extra month of the old contract is probably less than the £25 to renumber.

Re: replacement Sim card

@jono Just double check that the existing sim is on a 30 day contract, almost all are, but some people took out 12 month contracts paid monthly. Logging in to your account or using the mobile app should show you what the contract is

Re: replacement Sim card

Hello, we are on monthly on both accounts, I originally a bit unsure what plusnet mobile would be like so opt for 30 day so I could move on if needed, we still here.
Regards to everyone who took the time to answer.
