"Personal details updated" messages for no reason

Ref: Plusnet mobile account

I have received a text (from the Plusnet number that informs me of Direct Debit payments) saying "cheers for updating your personal details" and an email (which looks genuine) from Plusnet saying "Just a quick note to confirm your personal details have been updated."

The problem is that I had not updated my personal details. Both messages suggest calling 500 if I did not make any changes but I gave up after 20 minutes of hold music.

I have logged in and changed my password and checked that all of my details are correct.

Has anyone else had these messages for no reason?

Thanks for getting in touch with us. 

The system will automatically update details stored on the account to reflect any changes made within your online 'My Account' and send you out a confirmation text that this has been applied. 

If you've not made any changes online or contacted us to do so, you can send me a Private Message and I'll certainly look into this for you.
