With OFCOMs new Text-To-Switch PAC procedure fast approaching...

...how are Plusnet planning to comply given your lack of support for short codes?

Great question, I suppose the simple answer is by turning on Shortcode message facility to get your PAC.

Re: New Text for PAC switch

I don't think they have a choice but to support it. At some point.

Re: New Text for PAC switch

Plusnet don’t (currently) support short text codes... this will be interesting.

Will it be enabled for all numbers or just this one?

Short Code Text to request PAC code

With Ofcom announcing that all providers must now allow users to request a PAC code by sending "PAC" to 65075, it appears that Plusnet will now at last be able to support short code texting!

Yay! I hear you cry. Just one drawback. They will only support short code texts in order to obtain a PAC or a STAC (Service Termination Authorisation Code).

So if you are thinking of leaving Plusnet because of their steadfast refusal to support short code texting - you can now send them a short code text to achieve this.

Oh the irony! Crazy3

Re: New Text for PAC switch

Just verified Plusnet will ONLY be supporting short code texts to comply with legislation. Still no general support for short code texting.

Re: New Text for PAC switch

Hmmmmmm.

Tuesday has come.

The information short code, as detailed by Ofcom below, INFO to 85075, still doesn't work.

EDIT: Tuesday has not come. Doh. Senior moments are definitely arriving though. Sorry!

Re: New Text for PAC switch

I would advised not to abused text short message if you don't plan to move away from Plusnet to other provider. Anyone who try to test if this short text service does work or not work should not do this way. Plusnet already metion last week it will support this feature from today.
