Will a new Plusnet 4G SIM card work in a Nokia Lumia 530 (a 3G mobile phone)?

As the Nokia in question was released in 2014, it would not be able to support 4G I'm afraid.

Plusnet/EE network uses 2G, 3G and 4G so any phone able to use at least one of those 3 systems will work.

Example a 4G phone can use the PN 2G, 3G and 4G but a 3G phone can only use 3G and 2G while a 2G phone can only use 2G.

When it comes to data a 3G phone will be slower to download/ display web pages and download data be it apps or file than a 4G phone but calls and text will be the same on any of the systems.

Thanks very much for the info, I rarely go on the internet with the phone, just a few texts & calls a month that's all I need, paying £10 a month at the mo.

You might be better off by using a PAYG SIM from the likes of 3 if you really don't make a lot of calls or text. I use their PAYG as the costs are worth it to me. and the credit does not expire, just top up a few times a year at £10 a go. Spent less than £50 in the last 2 years. 

Basically it is 3p a minute for calls, 2p a text and 1p per MB of data
