Having just moved to plusnet (along with my family) I am slightly disappointed to discover the forwarding options all appear to be locked down. There appears to be a fixed 20s delay before divert to voicemail too, which isn't long enough for me.
The standard GSM codes appears to work (the reply says they have) but later interrogation of the network shows the diverts have automatically reverted back to +447870020555.
Is it possible to provide access to these settings please?

Not tried any of the following myself but there is this:
Possibly you've tried them all already?
Edit: You can extend the delay for voicemail:

It looks like call forwarding to specified numbers isn't supported although some people claim they've got it to work for them regardless:

Hi markcoley!
Thanks for getting in touch!
We do offer the call forwarding feature however, these aren't included in your allowance, and are charged at a rate of 40p per minute. A full list of call forwarding service numbers that we support, are as follows:
- 074061 075891 0775530 078745 075377 077448 078227 074062 075892 0775533 078921 075590 077449 078730 074063 075893 077554 078922 075595 07755 078744 074065 076660 0775544 078930 075597 077552 079780 074068 077001 077555 078931 075598 0775520 079781 074181 07744 0775555 078933 075718 0775522 079788 074577 077442 078220 078938 075890 077553 079789 075201 077443 078221 078939 078229 079784 075371 075207 077444 078223 079112 078360 079785 077447 075208 077445 078224 079118 078644 079786 078226 075209 077446 078225 0795398 078727 07978620000

Sorry for the confusion markcoley!
We cannot access any specific Voicemail settings via our system, apart from completely enabling/disabling your Voicemail service.
If you would like to increase or decrease the time before your handset forwards to our Voicemail service, we have 4 different codes that may help.
I can't advise as to which will work as they're all handset dependant, but can you try each one by dialling it into your keypad and calling that number? The codes are as follows:
**004*+447870020555*11*30#
**004*07870020555*11*30#
**61*+447870020555*11*30#
**61*07870020555*11*30#
As you can see, I have highlighted '30'. This is the number of seconds that the phone will ring before this forwards on to Voicemail.
The longest ring time is 30 seconds however, if you wish to reduce this, it can be changed in 5 second increments for example:
'**004*+447870020555*11*05# **004*+447870020555*11*10# **004*+447870020555*11*15# etc...'
The list of numbers I have provided above, are Call Forwarding Service numbers. These are numbers that can be used to forward a call onto another service, such as Voicemail.

It seems we are able to adjust the delay and the system remembers this. The 004 and the 61 codes both work to do this.
However, it is impossible to turn off voicemail completely. Any attempt to do this resets the divert delay back to 20 seconds. It's as if the cancel instruction then triggers something that reinstates the default diverts with a 20 second delay (for the divert on not answered).
Do you know if turning off voicemail at a customer service level then gives us control to turn it on and off by ourselves using the standard codes?

I'm afraid not markcoley.
If we were to turn off Voicemail via our system, this would disable it entirely, and the codes would be rendered useless.
The only way to turn Voicemail on and off, is either via Customer Service, or via the handset settings if allowed.

Could mine be turned off at source (I could send on with number in?) and I'll do some testing and report back.

I can certainly turn this off for you via our system markcoley.
Be sure to send me a Private Message, and I'll pick this up.

Here's an update. It looks like plusnet's systems have a serious fault in them and until they are fixed I'd stay with your own network for the time being if you were thinking of moving.
When they turn voicemail off what they are really doing is baring any access you have to call the voicemail number. I have a message waiting for me (left before it was 'turned off') and when I ring 555 or 07870020555 the line drops and I am not allowed to access it.
Conditional forwards are still set on my phone to this number and I still can't remove them. I can, however, set the conditional divert time to between 5s and 30s using *61*07870020555*11*5# (for 5s) or *61*07870020555*11*30# (for 30s).
So now I've been 'barred' from ringing voicemail, my phone will still try to divert to the voicemail number when the phone is off or out of coverage, or if it rings for more than 5 seconds. The person ringing in has the call dropped from a mobile or hears number unobtainable from a landline, perhaps after as little as 5 seconds if the phone is on.
This seems completely incorrect behaviour so I suspect there is a serious network fault.

For the time being (whilst voicemail has been turned off by plusnet) if anyone rings me when my phone is off or out of coverage they will get the impression I do not have a working phone number as the 'number unobtainable' tone will be given, or the call dropped. This cannot be correct behaviour.
Without recourse to use of the *61* codes the longest my phone can ring before plusnet drops the line is 20 seconds. This cannot be correct behaviour.

It looks like this fault was pointed out months ago.
