Voicemail notification constantly in icon tray

As above, use to have to clear app cache on my previl is (Huawei) phone to clear it from notification tray (no messages were in voicemail). Got a new phone hoping problem would resolve (Samsung S5) but the voicemail icon is still in the notification tray even though there are no voicemail. Manually clearing phone app cache isn't a solution as it just comes back a few hours later. Any ideas?

Is your Voicemail service currently switched on or off? You can test this by calling 555.

Service is switched on and I have a personal greeting. People can leave messages.

Can you try calling the long Voicemail number rather than the short and check for any outstanding messages?

No messages are in the voicemail. As a suggestion, could it be possible that there is a problem with your server sending out incorrect information? As I said previously, this problem was the same on another handset and it doesn't appear to be hardware related at my end. Thanks for your help so far.

I have had a look into this Jaimiebyrne and it appears it could be a handset issue. I have found a third party website via Google that may have a few possible solutions. Can you try the following steps and follow them with a re-boot of your handset?

Thanks already seen that article. Tried suggestions - no joy. As I said : Same problemail on Huawei Handset. Was hoping new phone would sort it

If you send me a Private Message with your details, I can turn off your Voicemail service and then back on again.
