Voicemail not on but still getting notification

As I don’t like voicemail I found I had to request this to be deactivated rather than enter a code. No biggie with that, job done
But I have started to receive notification that I have voicemail
With the function being turned off I can’t access it or stop it
Why is it happening?

thanks for getting in touch today!
It could be that there was a message in your voicemail before turning it off which is causing the notifications.
If you drop me a message we can certainly get this reset for you.

I have tried messaging Sarah but have yet to receive a reply
I am still receiving the voicemail notification every few hours or so
Is there anything you can do?

Hi, when I switched to Plusnet all my calls went to voice mail. I rang Plusnet who disabled voice mail. Now I get phantom notifications that I have received a voice mail. No caller is logged. Happens randomly and also when phone is switched on /off. I have tried going to phone apps (3 of them) and clearing data and forcing stop. However have been unable to un-check send notifications. Neither do I have a Voice mail App. Voice mail settings in call section are very basic and do not help.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. Any help gratefully received before going doolally!
