Voicemail not on but still getting notification

I have recently switched from EE to Plusnett. I have an iPhone 6
As I don’t like voicemail I found I had to request this to be deactivated rather than enter a code. No biggie with that, job done
But I have started to receive notification that I have voicemail
With the function being turned off I can’t access it or stop it
Why is it happening?

thanks for getting in touch today! 

It could be that there was a message in your voicemail before turning it off which is causing the notifications. 

If you drop me a message we can certainly get this reset for you.

You can send a Private Message by clicking Sarah's name to the left of her post and then 'Send Message'.

I have tried messaging Sarah but have yet to receive a reply
I am still receiving the voicemail notification every few hours or so
Is there anything you can do?

About a month ago I posted that I was receiving a voicemail notification but my voicemail is set to off
Although a couple of forum members showed interest it is still unresolved
Would anyone else care to try?

Hi, when I switched to Plusnet all my calls went to voice mail. I rang Plusnet who disabled voice mail. Now I get phantom notifications that I have received a voice mail. No caller is logged. Happens randomly and also when phone is switched on /off. I have tried going to phone apps (3 of them) and clearing data and forcing stop. However have been unable to un-check  send notifications. Neither do I have a Voice mail App. Voice mail settings in call section are very basic and do not help.

Phone is Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. Any help gratefully received before going doolally!

It sounds as if we may need to turn the Voicemail service back on, check your inbox for any messages and then turn the service back off again.
