Silent voicemail messages

I’ve had voicemail set up for a while and have been able to listen to new messages in the past but now I get a notification but the message is silent when I try to listen to it. I’m using 555 and this works fine - I’m told there’s a new message and the time it was left... but there is nothing when the message plays. Can you please help?

I'm sorry to hear about your voicemail issues.

 

Can you please confirm if you have called your own mobile and left a voicemail?

If you are able to leave a voicemail and hear it , it may be the people who called yourself with the issues.

Hi. Yes I have done that and I’ve also had messages that worked in the past. I can’t believe that coincidence would be so strong that everyone who left me a message had problems on their side! The issues have happened with personal mobiles, landlines and big business landlines so I can’t believe the problem lies anywhere other than with Plusnet.

Any other ideas?

Could you try the sim in another handset and let us know how you get on? If your messages still do not work, please pop over a PM with the following info:

 

- Your full name

- Your full address with postcode

- Your Plusnet mobile number

I'm also having this problem, one in every few messages is completely silent.  All from different people.

Voicemail is also sometimes incredibly slow, so a few seconds pause between every prompt

 

"Message received"

long pause

"at"

long pause

"3.50"

long pause

"on the"

you get the idea.  Very annoying.  I know when it was because i have a missed call, I just want to listen to it.  Even more annoying if I go through that whole process and then it's silent.

Hi @Kershnazzle, thanks for getting in touch.

 

I am sorry you're experiencing issues with your voicemail. Have you been able to try your sim in a different handset? Can you also try re-booting your handset. You can do this by:

  • Turn the handset off
  • Take the SIM card out
  • Leave it for a couple of minutes
  • Replace the SIM card
  • Turn the handset back on again

I've done that, but there's no way of telling whether it's worked.  It sounds more like a software problem than a hardware one anyway.  I had already tried rebooting the phone, just taken the the SIM card out.

-Mobile number in question
-Full name and account name if different from yours,
-Full address including postcode.
