Should number transfer immediately ?

Submitted my PAC Friday, and my old network as dropped an hour ago.

Put in Plusnet SIM and working, but showing the Plusnet number, not my ported EE number - how long should it typically take to port the number?

I was under the impression it would be immediate, and not ideal for work (or lack of!) contact ?!

I'm sorry to see you had some downtime while we were transferring your number across. From what I can see I PM'd you a help article Here before putting the port through, which explains there may be some downtime. 

Looking at your other posts, I understand you've had further issues and you've cancelled so I'd like to wish you all the best with whoever you've decided to go with next.
