SIM card

Hello,

I am having issues with my SIM card activating on my iPhone. It’s not connecting to my iMessages and FaceTime.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum

Just a thought have you checked/reset your phone's APN settings see below scroll to      "What are the APN settings for my phone? "

Re: SIM card

Hi there,

Thanks for this, I’ve followed the steps but I can’t find the APN section on my iPhone. So I’m little confused!

Thanks

Re: SIM card

Try Settings/Mobile Data./Mobile Data Network

Re: SIM card

I thought you had checked if the phone was locked before you took a PN contract

My daughter gave me an Apple phone which was locked to EE

My local mobile phone shop who unlocks Samsung phones for £5 could not unlock it as he had to have a code from Apple and said  would cost if I remember correctly was about £30

It may be worth asking who you were with previously if they can unlock the phone

Re: SIM card

"Apple can't unlock your iPhone for use with a different network provider. Only your network provider can unlock your iPhone."

taken from https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201328 .

Best bet is to find out who it was on before and contact them. Usually its free if out of contract. As an example o2 request page is https://www.o2.co.uk/help/device-and-sim-support/unlocking-an-o2-mobile-to-use-on-a-different-networ...
