Roam Like At Home Setup

Hi

I am due to travel to Portugal in August and have 3 Plusnet accounts that I would like to use whilst over there. Is there:-

  1. A way to setup 'Roam Like At Home' for all of my accounts without calling customer services? I have logged into my account but it's not obvious?
  2. Is Portugal a suported destination and if it is which provider do I use?

Thanks

@Silko Hi and welcome to the forum,

A way to setup 'Roam Like At Home' for all of my accounts without calling customer services? I have logged into my account but it's not obvious?

There's nothing to set up specifically for 'Roam like at Home' , although you MAY need a staffer to check that your account is enabled for International roaming ( I believe it is by default ). I suggest calling customer services to check.

Is Portugal a suported destination and if it is which provider do I use?

I visit Portugal regularly and can confirm that it is a supported destination. There are 3 networks , MEO , NOS and Vodafone Portugal. Roaming works on MEO and NOS but not Vodafone P.( but then again neither does my GIFFGAFF SIM work on Vodafone P ).  Your phone shoudl connect automatically to one of the available networks.

Have a good time in Portugal, it's going to be pretty hot there in August!

Hope that helps

Re: Roam Like At Home Setup

Your phone SIM will usually have a "Preferred network list", meaning whilst abroad if your phone is set onto 'Automatically Select a network', it will choose the one on the SIM which the network wants you to use.

So it means you should have to do nothing. Worst case it doesn't work, you'll need to put your phone onto manual select and try a different network.

As @MisterW said just to put your mind at rest it is worth double checking roaming is enabled on your account, so I would either call CS or raise a question to the staff via the portal.

Or they may pick it up here .. nudge nudge Tongue

Hi Silko!

I'd be more than happy to make sure RLAH is enabled on your account if you could send me a Private Message.

You can find more information on RLAH at the following link: https://www.plus.net/help/mobile/roam-like-at-home/ Smiley
