Hi,
Got a strange email yesterday which seems genuine (pic attached), subject... "Request ID: ZXJYWZxxxxx) Your Privacy Request"
The link points to a genuine website (not clicked)
[Link removed]
Is someone ringing plusnet trying to access my data?
Thanks

I think someone is trying a new scam - Plusnet don't use third-party agencies for this kind of communication. Did you make a request to Plusnet? - if not, an obvious phishing attempt.

I assumed too, made no request, but the link points to a genuine site, moderator removed the link (i did cut it off half way) but the link goes to the onetrust.com site, https://www.onetrust.com/company/about-us/
which makes me think it might be something plusnet are doing on the marketing side (without explicit permission)?

Nope - nothing to do with PN - as I said, they do not use external services for this kind of thing, and the email in your original post, although slightly convincing, has one or two 'give-aways in it.
