I've had a Samsung S7 for years on plusnet using 4g no problems. I just bought a new Samsung S22 5G and I'm rarely able to make outgoing calls. I know Plusnet doesn't use 5G so I set the phone to auto connect on 4G/3G/2G.
When I try to make a call 80% of the time the phone just waits and waits then gives up. No error or anything.
The phone also doesn't seem to try switching to 3G / 2G either.
I've tried turning airplane on/off, resetting APN settings, power on off the phone etc with no success. I've also moved the SIM back to my old trusty phone and everything still works ok.
Anyone have any thoughts ?
Question ? I'm assuming moving my plusnet SIM from the old phone to the new phone doesn't require anything on plusnets side.
Just thought I'd ask before returning the phone.

Have you access to or is it possible to try a different s.i.m. in the phone? Preferably a different network and proven to work fully in another phone.
I know it doesn't help, but I've never encountered any issues when transferring a s.i.m. from an old phone to a new one. Even different makes, e.g. Samsung to Xiaomi (Poco), Motorola to Samsung.

UPDATE : Signal is slightly better today - still not fab and sometimes fails to connect. One thing I have noted is that on Plusnet's website they have a signal coverage checker ... https://www.plus.net/mobile/coverage-checker
This is a direct copy from EE's website (as EE is the operator ). BUT EE also have a network status feature too https://coverage.ee.co.uk/network/ee
For me, it reported some recent repairs although they claim to be resolved now. I'll monitor for a couple of days.
If anyone in Plusnet see's this I'd recommend adding this feature to your website too. Especially the report a fault aspect. I tried this on EEs website but as my phone isn't registered for them it wouldn't allow me to post a possible fault.
