Poor reception - Phone or Plusnet service?

Hi,

I generally have excellent service at home in Northampton, however, I've been away 3 times now to other areas and had no signal at any of them.

My wife has a genuine EE plan on her Iphone and has had very good reception at each of them and since Plusnet rides on the back of EE I expected the same.

I have a Motorola android though, so how can I best tell if the fault lies with my phone or a reduced EE service from Plusnet?

@Miggs Welcome to the forum.

All phones will have different receiver sensitivity so your wife's phone might well have better performance but that does not mean that there is anything wrong with yours.

Possibly more importantly Plusnet users do not get access to the EE 800MHz band so that could be the issue, see:  https://community.plus.net/t5/Mobile/Do-Plusnet-customers-get-full-EE-coverage/m-p/1533809#M8853

Thank you for your prompt response, I suspect that is the issue I am facing.

As my son keeps telling me, buy cheap...buy twice!!

I shall cancel asap.
