Hello,
Just a quick heads up for those who may be in a similar boat to me really.
I received an email from Plusnet today to say they're putting the cost 30-day rolling contracts up by 5% from June.
I gave them a quick call because the new total bill represented just shy of a 40% increase.
I'm told that they're disapplying the discount on my account at the same time.
To make matters worse, Plusnet will also increase prices yearly in line with the CPI measure of inflation from June 2020.
Needless to say, I'll be jumping ship. I just thought the above may be useful to others.
Regards,
Chris
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Thanks for your PM @CH2IS
I'm replying here in case anyone is following this thread and wants to know the outcome - plus, nothing I am going to say is account specific so we are fine security wise.
I'm sorry you were told a few different contradicting stories, but I'm glad the 3rd agent managed to put "most of" your fears to rest, are there any that you want further clarification on?
I'll take a look into the account and see who spoke to you the first two times and ensure that the relevant feedback is passed across to their line managers.
Kind Regards,
MoR

Many thanks for your response.
Contrary to what I first told, it seems my bill's not going up almost 40%.
The last two people I've spoken to have restored my faith in Plusnet, so I may stay aboard a while yet!

That's very interesting under the terms and conditions that's is allowed but very sneaky see below so EE are increasing costs to PlusNet
But there may be hopefully no increases next year and we are still getting a good deal even with a 5% increase
9.2. A rolling monthly SIM only plan that you can end at any time on 30 days’ notice, will not be subject to an increase linked to CPI in March but we may change your monthly plan price and other charges under paragraph 26.1.
26.1. We may change our charges, services or the terms of our agreement:
26.1.4. if the cost to us of providing your services, or running our business increases (for example if the businesses we buy services or products from increase their prices);

This is just another result of BT's acquisition of Plusnet & the total disregard of it's customer base, the cost of mobile calling is reducing not increasing, most people now do not get anywhere near their 'given' minutes or texts, they like to do sneaky things now whereas before they were totally open.
I reduced both my accounts from £10pm to £6pm effective 1st May, yet they still charged £10 for May on the 15th April on both accounts. But as it'simpossible to communicate with support unless you have an hour of your life to give away I've let it go.

Hi @Phaeton, thanks for your post.
If you've made an account change for after the next bill was due to be generated you would have been charged the older rate as no account change would have been made as yet.
If you can PM me:
-The mobile number
-Your name
-The account holders name if different
-The first line of the address and postcode
I'll be able to look into this for you and hopefully find out what's going on.

Hi @Anonymous, we’ve avoided increasing our prices for the last few years and so our customers on 30 day rolling contracts will have an increase of 5% to their monthly plan price from 24th June. Going forward we will increase our prices each year and from June 2020, in-line with the Consumer Price Index.
I hope this helps.
