Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

I am with LIFE and they are great.

So, I just hope the existing staff are left at the call centre based in Staffs.

When you ring-up the is not a long wait and the agents are in no hurry to get you off the line; I would imagine this will change when they will be a massive influx of Plusnet customers joining.

I have monthly "sim" contract and have just upgraded to 4G but, the new special offer from the Plusnet Mobile is good so will just change at the end of November.

Does anyone know if there will be a femtocell offering for this service?

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

Life mobile seems to be 3G only while PN is offering 4G

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

I might be interested in this offer but I need PN to clarify about roaming costs, if PN will offer something similar to 4GEE whereby you can use your allowance in the EU.

@Dev

LIFE Mobile can supply 4G  - you only have to ask them. (I have it.)

As from the 29/11/2016 it seems Plusnet (LIFE) will offer 4G as standard

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

I could have been tempted by one of plusnets deals but seeing as the missus just done a 12 month sim contract for my phone there is little point. That and Tesco are now offering 6Gb for £12... plusnet are doing 4Gb for £10 - although they're offering unlimited minutes.

That said, I never get near my minutes usage anyway.. and I struggle to use just 1Gb... plus I have a ASDA payg sim (EE) in my second slot which lasts 6 months with no chargeable calls or texts.

If plusnet can match ASDA with PAYG and offer 4G instead of ASDAs 3G then I'd almost certainly switch.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

Hi

I have preregistered for Plusnet Mobile.
I was supposed to get an email explaining details but have received nothing.
I have questions please.
Bear in mind I have not purchased the phone yet.
1) During preregistering, I was asked what system I use.
Isn't the system you advertise EE? Do I have to join Vodaphone or someone?
Will there be additional charges for phone calls?
2) The monthly fee of £10. Does this increase at any time?
3) If I use more than 4GB, do you charge or does it just stop?
4) Does unlimited minutes mean free phone calls?
5) What is 'SMART cap'?
6) What phone do you recommend?
Thanks.

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

I notice that there are two topics running on essentially the same thing - check out https://community.plus.net/t5/Phone/Stupid-questions-about-the-new-PlusNet-mobile/m-p/1386988#U13869... - could they be merged?

Will PlusNet Mobile allow tethering?

Rising Star - as you say, two threads. What they also have in common is a lack of engagement, answers and response. This is supposed to be starting a week today, isn't it?Huh

@drj "Will PlusNet Mobile allow tethering?"

Came here to ask the exact same thing. Three offered me basically the same plan as this for £10 to retain me, but it'd mean switching to one of their "essentials" plans which doesn't include tethering...

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

Seems like a good offer but need to know what other costs are, such as calling or texting other countries.

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

A Google of "PlusNet Mobile" came up with a link to this:-

" Lifemobile.co.uk/PDF/PLUSNET MOBILE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.pdf "

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=8&ved=0ahUKEwjg8LGpqr_QAhVkDcAKHYJmC...

Gives a rundown of most of how it's all going to work

So we have to find everything out for ourselves? Is there a prize? Still no mention of prices, though. Huh

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

This uSwitch item offers a bit more info, and does mention tethering towards the end.

Re: Plusnet mobile coming 29th November

Existing Life Mobile rates outside of the inclusive bundle are very expensive compared with some of the alternatives like GiffGaff.
