Plusnet SIMs not designed for iPads?

I called Plusnet today to get help with the SIM I'd just installed in my iPad and was told "Our SIMs aren't designed to work in iPads" - who knew?!

presumably they mean you'd need a "data only" SIM for an ipad, and that's not something they provide.

Looking at uswitch website, there is no mention of plusnet mobile on the ipad sims page

I thought any nano sim would be compatible with iPad but it doesn't look like this is the case.

Edit: After looking into this a little further, it looks like @chenks76 is correct and iPad sims need to be these 'data only' ones.

Thanks for the confirmation. I gave notice on the contract and got a SIM from GiffGaff, which works fine.
