Paying via text???

Could anyone please tell me how I can pay for things like competitions on my mobile via text.  I send a text message to whatever competition it is but the text fails to send.  Obviously I'm missing something but I cant seem to find how I can 'top up' my credit.  I am currently on a £10 SIM only deal with a smart cap of £10.  I haven't used up my texts or data. Many thanks.

Plusnet doesn't support short code messaging - so if the numbers you are using are short codes then it won't work.
