Password special characters

At the moment, account passwords require:

• 1 of these special characters +-?#@!.,*

It's a limited list and might mean that those of us who already use special characters as part of a 'password algorithm' are having to use less secure or memorable passwords.

Would it be possible to expand this to include other symbols, such as $ and %?
