No signal

I have a new account, chose Plusnet as it is supposed to use EE and have good coverage - I have very poor coverage using my iphone 8 plus.  Also I was in an area on the weekend where no other phone service works except EE - however my phone did not get any signal at all! This is my main reason for getting Plusnet mobile as it is supposed to use EE but it appears not?!

Before I cancel my contract I would like some information if possible if there is a fault etc?

Re: No signal

Although Plusnet does indeed "piggy back" on the EE network, it doesn't have access to all of the frequency bands that EE uses.

I moved from EE to Plusnet Mobile last summer, and I have found the same coverage differences between the two that you have.

From what I have since found out, Plusnet deosn't use some of the lower frequencies that EE does, and this can affect penetration into very large buildings such as shopping centres etc.

Maybe this is one reason why Pusnet is significantly cheaper than EE?

Re: No signal

Thanks for that, it's useful to know.  It was in the countryside where I had no signal not a shopping centre.  Will see how it goes though - thank you Smiley
