No internet on wifi hotspot

Tried a search on here, but still no further forward. Created a wi-fi hotspot on my Android 7 phone plusnet sim. Laptop connects to it but says no internet connection available. Any ideas where to start please.

@M3SNU-Steve yeah, I've already had a look at that post, tried adding a new APN without success. I think it the phone type which is the problem Doogee S60. I'm charging up a old handset see if the mobile hotspot with Plusnet sim works with that.

PlusNet don't restrict tethering.

some phones don't seem to pick up the correct APN type by default to enable tethering.

As described in this https://chromepickup.com/wifi-tethering-on-android-doesnt-work-heres-how-to-solve-it/ , with some phones, adding dun to the APN type will work, others will require the tether_dun_required setting to be made.
