No internet connection on Android phone when tethering.

No internet connection on Android phone when tethering.  Phone itself has a good, fast 4G internet connection but if I set up a WiFi hotspot I can connect to it OK with my tablet, but it says "no internet connection" so no browsing.

Any ideas ?

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having trouble tethering your data.

Is your iPad able to connect to other Wi-Fi hotspots at all?

Not everybody has Apple products,   its a Samsung Android tablet.  It's able to connect to WiFi routers no problem.

Had a look at the build.prop file but there is no entry relating to stopping tethering.

On my android phone I had to use ADB and set tether_dun_required = 0 , that fixed it for me

Hmmm, looks a bit complicated, does the phone need to be rooted to do this procedure ?

The fact that it's not working at the moment mean that Plusnet/EE are disabling internet access via tethering then ?
