No connectivity in spain

Hi, currently in Spain, and my connectivity (data) has diminished to next to nothing outside, and nil indoors, where previously it worked very well. Wondered if any others users maybe experiencing the same in the northern Blanca area? Is it another EE issue?

Appears to be completely dead in the Costa del Sol

Tried several networks, none of them will allow my sim to register

I'm sorry to hear that you're both experiencing problems with your mobile signal whilst in Spain. There are a few things you can try if your device is showing no service:

• Try restarting your device.
• Try running a manual network search in your device settings and selecting a different network;

iPhone – Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection > Turn off Automatic

Android – Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK

Windows – Settings > Mobile Network > Network Selection > Tap on start manual search

I have tried all these things with absolutely no success. Still cannot use to phone or text

[-Censored-]. And you know it. Everyone has the same problem, we have all tried all the nonsense like re-starts removing sim, reseting etc. etc. You are playing for time.

Wonder why?

Solved

I contacted Ofcom, one hour later I got an email from plusnet. Co-incidence? Maybe.

Anyway, they switched off my roaming and then switched it back on again. I re-booted the phone, and bingo! roaming restored.

Email them and tell them to do the same for you.

We arrived in Malaga on Wednesday - no signal in the Alpujarras where we normally have good reception. Neither my wife nor I have any signal on our separate Plusnet SIM phones. I can´t connect manually to the signals I can see - Movistar, Orange SP or Vodafone ES. My Movistar SIM in the same (dual SIM) phone works as expected with plenty of signal.

If it isn't already can you set your phones to use XFERA and see if that resolves the issue?

No sign of xfera network.. wouldn't phone select it automatically anyway if it was available

No sign of XFERA here either. Lots of signal on Movistar (Telefonica/O2). Wishing I´d brought my Giffgaff SIM with me now!

See the thing is, at least for now, European Law requires that all networks provide roaming without charge. Now a fault is one thing, but 2 weeks without service, in my view is crossing the line into unlawful.

The local network shouldn't be restricted to only one either, ALL networks must provide roaming.
