New to Plusnet mobile

Today I received a text "Hello, your port is confirmed and will be complete on 16/08/21. We'll be in touch to let you know it's completed"

I received my new sim today also, and it has a random mobile phone number so am I right by thinking that if I put the sim in my phone on the 16th I will then be connected to my chosen number or will I be left with this new unwanted number?

I can't find any info on this.

Thank you in advance

Re: New to Plusnet mobile

Yes, it is standard procedure when porting a number.

The best thing to do is keep using your old sim until it stops working/it loses signal, then insert the new sim which should start working with your old number after a short delay.

Re: New to Plusnet mobile

You can continue to use your previous sim with your existing number and on the day of the switch you will lose service with it.
Then pop in your new Plusnet sim and should be working with the number transferred.
Hope that makes sense:)

I agree it makes sense,If only Plusnet said that in their emails.Instead they choose send information that is at best misleading lets have straightforward information that is easy to understand

Re: New to Plusnet mobile

Fair point. I chose Plusnet through a comparison site and acquired my  PAK  and put that into the online Plusnet form but now I'm getting emails telling me to use my new sim and text a number with my PAK

You can't make it up!
