New User - Unable to Message EE User

Joined Plusnet recently. Since then I have been unable to message my son who is with EE

Messages to other users on other providers no issues

I have noticed my sons messages come through with the country code (+44)
If I delete my son as a contact and start a new message manually typing his number my iPhone auto adds the +44

I think it’s the +44 country code that’s causing the issue
Other working users messages do not have the +44 prefix

Any ideas ?

Re: New User - Unable to Message EE User

@nsaints  Welcome to the Community forums.

The +44 is the UK country code. It replaces the leading 0 so for example, ringing a UK mobile should start +447xxxxxxxx not +4407xxxxx

Re: New User - Unable to Message EE User

Fix
I may have just fixed this..

I was also getting a ‘remove reinsert SIM warning to continue using my phone number’ for a few weeks now

I did this many times but the message kept returning

Anyhow I clicked into the message today and tried clicking the phone number within the message. A message popped up saying number now verified and a tick appeared next to my phone number

Tried messaging at my son and it now works

Why the original issue only impacted my son number who knows.
