New SIM not working

put my new sim into iphone7 plus (already unlocked and working on other sims) the carriers name comes up with plusnet and ee alternatively - there is an icon of a telephone with an arrow pointing away. I cannot send any sms and if I try to call a number it shows that it is calling but no sound at all. I need help or its time to cancel

Hi 

Have you checked reset your APN setting

 

iPhone

  1. Go to Settings > Mobile or Cellular > Mobile Data Network or Cellular Data Network > Access Point Names > Menu > New APN.

  2. Without changing any other settings, type in the following info:

    For Mobile data:
    APN: everywhere
    Username: eesecure
    Password: secure

    For MMS:
    APN: eezone
    Username: eesecure
    Password: secure
    MMSC: http://mms/
    MMS Proxy: 149.254.201.135:8080
    MMS Max Message Size: 1048576

  3. Tap the left arrow at the top three times, then press the home button.

  4. Check the notification bar for 4G, 3G, E or GPRS. That'll show your connection is working.

Hi, those do not show up in my settings. Someone from Plusnet finally got back to me and has found out that it is their error and will take up to 5 working days to sort out....totally unacceptable both timeframe and customer / tech support. I am in isolation and it is the only sim i have. Not impressed at all

The resetting apn setting has worked for me! Was just about to post for help as my data is not working and 2 calls to customer service has not yet helped, i have sony experia xz, i added a new access point name, called it plusnet as it wouldnt save without a name, and put in the APN everywhere, username eesecure and password secure as suggested by Helloduck and it appears now that my data is finally usable! Many thanks 👍
