Moving sim card to new phone

I'm sure this is very simple but:

A new unlocked phone is on its way. I understand that I can just transfer the sim card over and the phone should work.

What is the easiest way to move the contacts, messages, photos and settings to the new phone?

PS the phone is staying on the same plusnet mobile network.

Ah - that might be a little difficult. If it had been the same brand for both phones it would be easier as you possibly have copied them to a PC and then to the new one.

I haven't looked, but have you tried checking on Google, or any search engine, for a 'how-to', but it may be a bit difficult between brands?

It was a year ago, but I'm pretty sure this is what I did when moving from a OnePlus5 to my Pixel 6 Pro.

If I remember right, it was pretty straight forward with part of the initial set up prompting it.

If you have a Google account, lots of stuff can be reinstated to the new phone. Providing you have backed up to Google Drive.

There are Playstore apps. too, e.g. "Copy my Data", which I have used to good effect in the past.
