Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

Thanks for getting back to me @Wibblyp

I understand what I wrote and I'd be wary about quoting private messages publicly as it's against the forum rules.

Our relationship with our suppliers is between Plusnet and our suppliers and we wouldn't go into detail regarding this.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

There's a world of difference between PlusNet not being able to supply service on a national basis, and local coverage faults that all networks suffer from and are inherent in mobile networks.

I would always suggest that anyone is wholly reliant on their mobile in a particular location, should have some kind of alternative arrangement in place to allow for interruptions in service.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

Gosh, never knew that we're not allowed to quote someone, especially when the quote contained nothing untoward, secret, defamatory, aggressive, offensive, rude, lewd, racist, ageist, genderist, political or pornographic.

A good use of moderator time.

Thankyou

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

As another week draws to an end the ongoing fault on my phone has not been fixed. EE are still showing the fault on their checking system. To add insult to injury Plusnet have billed me over £20 for the use of my land line. It's nice to know that you're in such capable capitalist hands. Many thanks. Our parents also send their gratitude, all of whom are well into their eighties and very needy during these strange times, as such value the time spent talking over the phone.

well done

Paul

It depends whether you're looking for short term/temporary alternatives or long-term ones that you can keep.

Any alternative is an improvement on the current situation so suggestions gratefully received.

A temporary alternative phone and/or SIM.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

How would that resolve the fault with EE ? As EE provide the best coverage in this area when their relay station is working correctly. Another phone or sim would be of no use sadly.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

I replied to your request on Facebook yesterday with the requested information. I have not yet received a reply. I have however received an update from EE, which states the following, "We need to send an engineer to the site to re-assess the problem with the site. We will next update you on 30 May". So that will be another 2 weeks, taking the total to 5 weeks. I note others who have commented on this thread have suggested this is to be expected from mobile networks. I have never experienced such a protracted issue with a mobile network. If a resolution is not found within the next 48 hrs I will have no option other than to make a formal complaint, both to Plusnet and Offcom.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

@Wibblyp

Just so that you're aware, Ofcom won't accept complaints from individuals, as per their website:

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/how-to-report-a-complaint/service-problems & https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/problems/mobile-faults-gu...

There's all manner of reasons why a mobile network isn't always able to resolve a coverage problem as soon as they'd like, but ultimately there's nothing PlusNet can do when it's EE who operate the network.

Thanks for getting back to us @Wibblyp

We've hidden your comment on Facebook because it contained account information.

Adam private messaged you via Facebook Messenger. If you can check this and reply back that'd be great.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

Yes, you are correct. I should have said either of the two ADRs recommended by ofcom. A fine point well observed.

Re: Mobile signal keeps dropping

Gandalf, are you suggesting that information requested on the Facebook page by Adam was available for all to see ? If not, then why has it been deleted. At no point was I asked to respond via a private message. Perhaps you are able to explain this ? I had no idea that the page I was responding to was in the public domain. Can you please advise me, how many times this page was viewed by others, outside of myself and Plusnet staff.

Regards
