Mobile networks in Germany?

I'm in Munich and I'm due in Berlin this weekend, just wondering if the networks here have a specific deal with you, Plusnet, or with EE who's network you use?

It's just I can't connect to any of them here but it could be a local issue. I've spoken to your webchat team who say everything is set up to use and my services did work in Nice last week so I'll see if I can connect at my next destination.......

Thanks

Re: Mobile networks in Germany?

Hi Quango69!

Thanks for taking the time out to get in touch with us, it's much appreciated!

We do advise when roaming, to manually search for a network and attempt to connect to any that appear available, as some handsets don't automatically connect.

I must also advise that there's no guarantee of service availability overseas. When roaming abroad, we don't have full control of the signal strength, functionality with the masts and local network in that particular area.

If you're struggling to connect to a network, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

> Re-booting your handset

Turn the handset off

Remove the SIM card

Leave it for a couple of minutes

Replace the SIM card

Turn the handset on

This will refresh the signal and attempt to re-establish a connection with the local network.

> Manually connecting to a network

We do advise that you may need to manually search for a local network and attempt to connect this way. All handsets vary dependant on their make and model however, a general search on an Android handset would be:

From the home screen, tap and drag the Notifications bar downwards.

Tap the Settings icon.

Scroll to and tap More networks.

Tap Mobile networks.

Tap Network operators.

If prompted tap OK.

Tap the required network.

> Trying the SIM in another handset

If possible, try using a friend/family members handset that is unlocked to all networks to see if the SIM has any network connectivity in an entirely different device.

Re: Mobile networks in Germany?

Thanks. Will try this and see if it works on the way to, or in Berlin.

Can you answer the other question too please, about providers in Germany? .
Thanks

Re: Mobile networks in Germany?

Hi Quango69,

I'll certainly raise this off to our Operations Team for a response.

As soon as I have one, I'll be sure to post it here.

Re: Mobile networks in Germany?

@RebekaPreston you shouldn't need to ask again!.

According to this thread https://community.plus.net/t5/Mobile/OPS-Team-outstanding-questions/m-p/1491437#M6998

they replied as below the last time the question was asked

2) regarding confirmation of which countries PN actually have roaming agreements with --

We have access to all the EU countries, and while it may differ to the list that EE have agreements with in terms of the amount of networks available in each country, we do have agreements with a provider in every EU country.

Last time I checked Germany was in the EU!Roll_eyes

Re: Mobile networks in Germany?

Hi Quango69!

I've had a response from our Operations Team with regards to roaming agreements in Germany, the networks you can connect to are as follows:

  • E-Plus
  • O2 - 2G
  • O2 - 3G
  • T-Mobile

Hope this helps!
