“Message not sent, phone number fomatted incorrectly”

I get the above message when trying to send a text to a non-standard length phone number.

By that I mean a 5 digit number that companies use to do surveys, or report feedback etc.

Normal messages to mobiles work absolutely fine.

Does anyone know what might be the problem here?

I’m using a Motorola G5 Plus, if that makes any difference.

'Short codes' are not currently supported by Plusnet Mobile.
