Mates rates & new deals

I'm getting to the end of my PN Broadband contract and although I don't like the hassle of switching, I'm being tempted by another provider who has a slightly better deal. The only thing is, I'd lose mates rates if I leave PN BB which I wouldn't want to because of double data. But just had a look at uSwitch deals and there's even a better deal SIM deal for the same price I am paying now, and it's available to both new and existing BB customers. Wondering if I can switch to that as a "new" customer and keep my numer, and then switch BB?

edit: in fact having looked at the available plans I just changed mine via chat. In fact I was offered a better plan than any of those listed.

Thanks @MisterW. In fact I'm happy with my current SIM deal and would prefer PN to give me a better deal on broadband instead, but they don't want to go lower.
