How to disable voicemail

Hello,

I am getting voice messages at least once each day from some *person* advising me that I have an " unclaimed parcel ".

The numbers used are in the ranges 07552, 07550, 07852,07901,07268,07990,07515,0345 and +86 20 8110 0242.

The country code is China; that's not to say the calls are coming from there although the *voice* has an Asian accent.

I have two options here;

1) Disable the voicemail - can someone advise on the correct way to do this ?

2) Close my account.

I have other Plusnet mobiles and they don't get this *spam*; this is a new number; may be relevant ?

You need to call up to disable voicemail

I phoned 500 on Monday, followed the instructions that took me to a " real live person" and the process of canceling my voicemail was painless.

Oddly I did not receive any calls from *my pal ! * on Monday; it was short lived, today I received a call, maybe Monday is a day of rest for China !

If I place my phone face down I no longer hear it ring, previously it did when voicemail was activated.  It now rings for 10 seconds then gives a " cannot connect " response to the caller if I don't answer. Not an ideal situation, although better than having rubbish messages in my voicemail.

Glad you got your voicemail switched off - there are call blocking apps out there that might worth a look at?
