How do I stop mobile data be used?

It might seem a stupid question, but it is not.

We have a £. 6/m simple contract,but how do I have mobile data BLOCKED at PlusNet [rather than phone] as we do not use it and only use Wi-Fi if ever?

Phone is oldish, therefore certain Data Block apps do not work any more as phone OS has stopped at 4.4.4v !

Cannot do more than it is doing, I cannot even take Google Search off the screen - that too does not work!

It is the wife's phone and only does tests and phone calls, never internet.

As you've mentioned 4.4.4, I assume it's an android phone?

Normally, menu - settings - mobile data (maybe just data) and tick/swipe from yes to no

This turns off the mobile data part, but allows calls and texts.

As mentioned it is old and yes, mobile data is off.

I need to clear it with PlusNet first as their website is a bit on the 'do not know what is going on' side.

We will see.
I am already looking on another phone, but with limited choice.

We solved it via phone, it was a delayed D/D by PlusNet [or BT !]

Sorry, should have mentioned it - android.

Anyway best bet is when I can afford to upgrade my phone, I will give mine to wife - at least this one is on Android 7 and no problems at all!

The old phone is actually OK and was not a mobile data leak after all - I thought so the lock still works - I also have an app that still works on android 4.

The only thing I cannot do is get rid of Google search on the screen!

It cannot be done with this phone, I gathered - I tried various methods.

One of those things.
Time to upgrade, but not just yet!
