Emails sent to mobile-help result in a 'Mail delivery failed' message

At the time of writing I am getting a 'Mail delivery failed' message from avasout01.plus.net 84.93.230.227 every time I send a message to mobile-help at plus.net. I have little confidence that my messages are being read.

Are others affected by this? Try it by sending a test email.

What's the full bounceback you're getting?

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

The history of this is that several days ago I was only getting the non-delivery message but more recently I sometimes get the normal standard reply but always get the non-delivery message below.

 

Can anybody say why I get this message but others appear not to?

Thanks for getting back to me @Neville- 

That bounce back says you're emailing life_mobile_talk_to_us@mailgb.custhelp.com which as far as I'm aware isn't an address we'd use. Are you definitely sending an email to mobile-help@plus.net as indicated in your first post?

Yes - in addition to a Bcc to myself I am only sending the emails to mobile-help@plus.net

The returned email has a body and two attachments. The attachments are identical except that one includes: 'This is a test email - please ignore.' I understand that these attachments are the source received by the mail server.

I had removed the lower part of the my earlier incoming post because it contained my email address. One of the attachments is below with my email address replaced with my-email-address.

I don't have sufficient experience to say if the problem is caused by a mail filter rule, mail forwarding, a misconfigured DNS or a misconfigured MX but it appears likely that it is within (or controlled by) BT, Plusnet or 'life mobile talk' - which I was told is an earlier Plusnet name. It is also possible that a DNS (or MX) cache anywhere in the world has persisted much longer than intended in which case I assume a DNS/MX expert should be able to track it down with the routing information I have provided.
