EU from June 15th 2017

As we know, (at least until the messy and potentially crippling brexit divorce), using your mobile abroad in EU member countries from June 15 won't cost any extra than using it at home.  Which is kinda wooly and could mean two things:

Does this mean it comes out of your bundle?  Specifically, as long as you stay within your bundled minutes, texts, data, you don't get charged anything using your phone for calls, texts and data in EU member countries?

Or

Does it mean calls, data and texts cost the same abroad as if you were calling texting and using data outside of your bundle in the UK?

These are very different things and I would like clarification as to what mobile operators have to offer to comply with EU legislation on this.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before at length and we also had a comment from someone from Plusnet help.

Re: EU from June 15th 2017

It talks about data use and bundle prices, where somewhat bizzarely, if your contract includes a subsided phone and you pay stupid money each month, you get more roaming data (why having a subsided phone changes how much roaming data you get is a mystery as the vast majority of a £50 monthly contract is paying the phone, and the £10 mobile bit is the same as if you don't subsidise a phone)

I tried to work out what my foreign calculation for data allowance would be, and gave up.  Perhaps someone that understands could tell me.   I pay £10/month and get 5gb....  What would my monthly EU free usage allowance be?

Actually just found this

"

  • Plusnet, which provides one of our top pick Sims, committed to not applying additional charges: "We're pleased to say we won't be charging customers on 20GB plans and under. We don't offer plans above 20GB.""
