Dual sim phones

Hi Folks. Bought my 1st sim card from Plus net and waiting for it to arrive. I am new to Plusnet and it just occurred to me - i have a dual sim phone with micro sims so planned to buy a second sim when the contract ends with might sound like a silly question but am i okay to use two plus net sims or do they have to be compatible with my dual sim phone or something. ? Please excuse my ignorance.

Re: Dual sim phones

I use a dual SIM phone with a Plusnet SIM and a Giffgaff SIM, works fine.

I'm not sure there"s any point in having two Plusnet Sims though?

Re: Dual sim phones

Hi Ruby321,

Like MisterW I have some from two different networks in my dual SIM phone.

In my case a contract Three SIM and a Giffgaff (O2 network) payg sim.

Three and EE (Plusnet use EE) typically share phone base station sites.

Vodafone and O2 also typically share phone base station sites.

If the phone cannot get a Three signal (rare these days), it can usually get a Giffgaff signal.

From a coverage POV the best of both networks Smiley

Re: Dual sim phones

With that in mind that using two independent networks give you more security to be able to make phone calls on one or the other when out in the wilds I would recommend using your main SIM card slot for your Plusnet sim and get hold of an o2 Classic PAYG SIM for the backup as I doubt you will be using it much.

O2 Classic PAYG is 3p per minute, 2p per text and 1p per Mb with no expiry of your credit.
