Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

Plusnet's coverage map for Woodbridge is absolute rubbish, a complete fraud.

I was attracted by Plusnet's mobile package but have just wasted a load of time and hassle moving across to Plusnet only to find there's no coverage here!

Plusnet's coverage map showed good, solid 4G coverage for where I live and all over Woodbridge with no weak areas at all. In practise I've found at most I got single bar reception in the right spot in my garden, no signal indoors.  Ever in hope, I've just walked a mile along the street where I live and on along the length of the Thoroughfare in Woodbridge, at most I got one bar and often no signal at all the entire way!!

I'm furious, good bye and good riddance Plusnet.

Re: Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

Hi there, I'm really sorry to see you've had such a poor experience and haven't been able to get much mobile signal in spite of what our coverage checker tells you.

It might be the case that there's an issue with the mast in your area so I'd like to take a look into that for you. Please feel free to send me a private message with your full name and mobile number.

Re: Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

Thanks Adam,

Yesterday I spent an hour or so standing in the garden, in the cold, speaking to different people in your technical team.  They told me there's nothing wrong with the two masts which supposedly cover Woodbridge. There's nothing wrong with my phone either - it was working perfectly well with Vodafone just hours earlier.  I should have stuck with Vodafone. 😞

Re: Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

Hi Adam,

I have just moved to St Andrews, Scotland. The coverage checker says I should get 4G but I am getting No Service everywhere in the town.

Does this mean I should change my provider?

Thanks,

Josh

Hey @jduffield65,

Thanks for reaching out to us and I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the signal. As it happens, I've checked that postcode out on our systems and I'm not seeing any reported issues in the area at the moment. Is it only indoors that this seems to be a problem, or is it outdoors too? Along that line of thinking, have you had a chance to try the phone elsewhere to see if the signal comes through?

Re: Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

Hello,

So I turned my phone off and on and I now seems to get signal outside.

I don't get any signal inside though and when I walk from inside to outside it takes quite a long time for the signal to come through.

Thanks,

Josh

Re: Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

Thanks for confirming that Josh. I'm glad to hear that you're getting signal outdoors now. The signal map shows that indoor signal may be variable in the area, so it would be expected that it may not be available at all times whilst inside. Please keep an eye on how the signal performs over the next few days and let us know if you run into any issues Smiley

Re: Coverage - Woodbridge, Suffolk

I have written this before, but PN/EE are not alone with their totally inaccurate coverage maps and signal predictions.

All the networks show, for my postcode, an excellent signal outdoors and good indoors for 4G. Non of them provide that and most of the time WiFi Calling is on because of the locally very poor signal. Sadly PN do not offer WiFi Calling which, fortunately, my provider does. Even other "cheaper" EE MVNOs offer it.
