Confused re 08 numbers

When I phoned to start a mobile contract I asked about 0845 and 0870 numbers. I was told just change the 8 for a 5 and the number is free?? He also said I would get 65mbs on 4G in my area. I think I have been stuffed on both occasions. Quite annoying as I was with Virgin on 3G unlimited everything inc 0846 and 0870 numbers 😡😡

Hi @frankc52, 

It would seem you've been given some misadvice in this situation, and I do apologise for this. We do charge for 0845 and 0870 numbers at 19p per minute and then any service charge which is set by the organisation you're calling. 

As for your 4G speed, the max speed with offer is 20mbps. If you drop me a private message I can look into this for you, as I want to help you as much as I can with this.
