Re: Cancel my sim contract

Afternoon @Haylo123 are you wanting to keep the number or lose it?

To keep your number you'll need a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). Text PAC to 65075. It's free and quick. Around 60 seconds later you'll get your code. Once you use it with your new supplier your account with us will close and you will either be billed or credited for the service you use. After that bill or credit you will receive 1 last bill that say's £0 and that effectively means it is closed. Does that make sense?

If you don't want to keep it you will need a STAC if you are moving to another supplier. To request a STAC – text STAC to 75075.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

I already have another contract with another phone and a new number so I don’t need either. I just need to cancel.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

Ok so in that case you will need to call our mobile customer service. 0800 079 1133 is the number and they are open between 8am and 8pm. We can't cancel it on the forum unfortunately.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

Hi Will,

I'm moving my contract & number over to another supplier & am just awaiting delivery of the SIM. I paid my Plusnet bill for a new month just a couple of days ago. If I were to port over to my new supplier this week, would the remainder of the month (that I've paid for & not) used be refunded to my account?

Thanks!

I know! It sucks we are pulling out of the market but it means we can focus on the broadband side of things. Hope everything goes well with the move. Let me know if you need anything else Smiley

Re: Cancel my sim contract

Good luck with the phone number, I have tried for over a week. Phoning daily at different times and always get a line busy tone and get disconnected.

I had previously phoned to cancel my SIM in March, and just noticed on my bank statement that I have been charged every month since then.

It has just confirmed the reason I moved away from PlusNet in the first place. Such a shame as in the beginning I couldn't fault them.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

I have tried to call the contact number repeatedly from another mobile phone and just get line busy!

I no longer have the phone I used my plusnet sim in so cannot use the '500' number option!

The only option as Plusnet don't give an email address is to cancel the direct debit with the bank direct and wait till Plusnet contact me!

@andywoolhouse

"The only option .... is to cancel the direct debit with the bank direct and wait till Plusnet contact me!"

You might find that affects your credit rating, if Plusnet are expecting a payment and it fails - if that worries you?

Re: Cancel my sim contract

@andywoolhouse Have you tried doing it through using a STAC code? That's if you don't want to keep the number.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

As I said, I no longer have a mobile to use the sim in and therefore cannot request a STAC code afaik.
The simple matter of PlusNet NOT having a working helpline number seems ludicrous.
However in the meantime I followed the link for making a complaint and found an email address.
Let's see if that helps.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

We do have a working number but it will be busy at the moment with the closure. I can produce the STAC if you want. Alternatively, you can email mobile-help@plus.net and see if they can close it that way, if that's the email address you found then awesome. Sorry about the hassle with all of this.

Re: Cancel my sim contract

Hi WIll,

When I said that the helpline wasn't working I meant that it says busy no matter what time I have tried!

Yes that is the email address that I wrote to, in the meantime if you requesting a STAC would cancel my contract then I would be most grateful.

My Plusnet number is <redacted>.

Do you need anymore details?

Regards

Andrew
