Can’t send texts to 5-digit numbers

Why can’t I send texts to 5-digit numbers. I have an iPhoneX and it’s been suggested that this may be down to my contract provider.

@Mags2 Welcome to the forums. Plusnet do not support short-codes as they are the 'budget' brand of the BT stable, and as a result, you only get a basic service, as I do with 'Smarty' - the budget brand of Three.

Thank you - I suppose this means I’ll have to look elsewhere as these short codes are getting used more widely these days. Many thanks
