Because Plusnet have not put my 83yo mother’s internet in yet, I got het a mobile phone deal with 13GB data. I called her and got her to put the SIM card into her cellular iPad.
It doesn’t seem to work. Do I need a special iPad sim and can Plusnet give me one for same number?
It should work, it could be that the APN settings aren't set correctly.
Try going to the Ipad Settings/Mobile Data. There click Reset Settings then enter the APN Settings from here https://www.plus.net/help/mobile/mobile-phone-and-voicemail-settings/
From my Ipad it looks like you only need to enter the APN, Username and Password
