Calls never redirect to voicemail

 

 

If I miss a call it never directs to voicemail, just rings until the person on the other end gives up calling.

 

Is this usual? Do I need to set up voicemail? I have dialled 555 and can get to the part where I am told there are no new messages and I can change my greeting (I haven't set a custom greeting) - what could the problem be?

I'm on a Nexus 5 running Android Nougat. Voicemail settings are set to 555.

In your voicemail settings, can you input the number 07870020555. This is the long voicemail number rather than the short.

I tried this earlier but it still didn't work. I'll try again when I am in a position to call myself. Will report back.

The change made no difference. Callers are not put through to voicemail and the call just times out.
