Call Forwarding

Hi all,

I just spoke to Plusnet support as I'm unable to enable/activate call forwarding. I was told call forwarding is not supported by Plusnet however he said some people had succesfully activated it. Has anyone on here managed to activate call forwarding?

This is a feature I need to use a lot, so if I can't enable it I think I'll have to look at cancelling my contract.

Adam

Re: Call Forwarding

Hi @adamjmartin

Call forwarding is a service we don't support and I'm not aware that some of our customers have been able to activate this service, as we don't have the facility to provide it.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused Adam, and it would be such a shame to lose your custom. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to give our Customer Service Team a call by dialing 500 from your SIM or 0800 0791133 from another line. -Ashleigh

Re: Call Forwarding

Hi @Anonymous, can you tell me why Plusnet don't provide this? It's provided by EE so I'd be interested to understand why you can't.

Unforunately, forwarding calls to my work number is something I really can't go without, so if there's no fix or workaround I will have to find another provider who offers this (basic) service.

Re: Call Forwarding

I understand. EE is a premium brand and although we use their network, we're still a separate entity; meaning we use a different system and there's certain aspects we're not able to provide as we haven't been given the facility for this.

Apologies once again for not being able to support your needs, @adamjmartin. -Ashleigh

Re: Call Forwarding

Not sure whether you're tallying votes for this feature but I'd be interested in it being made available. With 2 of us being on the same network and mostly being in the same place we used to forward our numbers to each other (when unanswered) so that we were more likely to pick it up

Re: Call Forwarding

I recently signed up to Plusnet Mobile but had to cancel within a day as I found out that call forwarding wasn't offered.

It's a shame. I'd love to see this offered in the future.

I know of other MVNO, using the same MVNE as Plusnet who do offer call forwarding, so, it's possible!

Re: Call Forwarding

I recently moved from Virgin, a MVNO who also use EE, and they don't offer forwarding either.

I had hoped that plusnet would be offering the service, and it is a shame they aren't :(.

I managed without it, but I would rather have it if possible. If there are MVNOs on EE that do provide the service would anyone like to suggest some names? (or does that breach the community policy in some way - in which case don't worry about it).

Is it purely a financial/contractual decision? i.e. a service EE allow MVNOs to use but charge extra for?

Re: Call Forwarding

I’ve never understood networks stances on call forwarding because if a call gets forwarded then that’s another call cost in the networks pocket at the expense of the customer.

Same goes for tethering when they don’t allow it on some networks but if you’re doing tethering then you’re buying and or using data at the customer cost not the network.

I must add though, that in this case PN does allow tethering so thumps up for that.

Another vote for Call Forwarding. Just transferred over to PN Mobile but looks like I'll be leaving as quickly. Really need that service - surprised to find that its considered optional.

Re: Call Forwarding

Hi Rebeka, that doesn't look like the service I'm asking about. Why such a restricted set of mobile numbers and no landlines?

Re: Call Forwarding

That's just a list of call forwarding service numbers - what a lot of people want is the ability to forward their calls to either a landline or another mobile.

Re: Call Forwarding

Call forwarding services aren’t included in your minutes because we don’t count them as a standard UK landline call. Our network provides the use of forwarding similar to that of tethering, if the handset supports this, then the forwarding numbers we provide on the website, will be charged at 40p per minute.
