We have 3 Plusnet SIMs in our household. We have a recurring problem where outgoing calls are cut off with "Call Ended" message before we even get a ring tone.
This is now causing significant problems - it isn't a phone issue as there are three different phones affected. Phones with EE SIMs work fine, so it looks like it is a Plusnet issue.
Most of the number we call are in the 01594 area, but we have seen the issue intermittently with other numbers.
We also don't always receive calls - no ring, but we do get a missed call notification seconds after someone tried to call us. The phone signal is strong, so it isn't a problem with weak signal.
I've seen threads with reports of similar problems - what is going on?

I think I have the same problem. Calls end immediately(no ring) when I try to call my mother's Three number and the same when she calls me. I am able to make calls to an o2 number but can't receive calls which show up as missed calls without ringing.

This happened on a few occasions over the last year, but has now become the norm. We have lost customers because we can't be contacted, and unless the problem is resolved we'll have to change provider.

I wonder whether it is related to this issue reported by the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-51926565
It would be good to have some comment from Plusnet...

I had this the other day trying to get a Drs appointment, just kept cutting off before ringing out.
It also happened late last year over a number of days.

I'm with BT Mobile who, like PN Mobile, use the EE network. I had an experience yesterday that I couldn't receive incoming calls.
It looks as though this is related to the O.P.'s issue. I contacted BT via online chat (yes they offer that useful service!) and was informed there was an ongoing EE network "outage". I did read that O2 were having similar problems.
It was being reported on downdoctor too.
I was, at that time advised it should be back to normal within an hour and to reboot my phone in an hour. It was sorted within the time specified.

Symptoms collected over about 4 months. It took this amount of time because the problem is intermittent and we only know of the problem when someone either says 'tried to call you' or we try and make a call when the problem exists.
2 phones 1 Android. 1 Apple
Both unable to make outgoing calls
Both unable to receive incoming calls
Both solved by a reboot.
Only happens when connected to a particular mast.
Unfortunately, until this morning the response from plusnet has been
Contact EE as we use their network. They do not want to know as we are not their customer.
Clean the SIM! As if 2 Sims go down at the same time
We will send replacement SIMs. Same contra as above.
Reboot phone. Yes that solves it but clearly not a phone problem as it occurs at the same time with 2 differing phones.
I hope at last, I spoke to a plusnet agent who understood what investigation we have gone through and will look at it.
My fear is that as plusnet use the EE network, if a particular cell is temporarily congested, plusnet traffic takes second pickings. That is pure conjecture though.

I wouldn’t put it pass them as I’m sure they use to or even still do prioritise o2 customers over GiffGaff customers when it came to data use and calls too I’m sure.
Had a couple of "call ended" happenings last week but thought it was the BBC thing reported above.

I had the same problem the call ending before being connected on my PlusNet mobile
I found the problem was the number was engaged when I tried from the landline so mobiles must not be giving the engaged tone

In general the line being engaged is not the problem. I have had the problem when I have tried calling both another mobile and a land line in front of me - so I know they weren't engaged.
I had the problem today repeatedly calling my local council, and their switchboard can answer a lot of calls simultaneously.
Also an engaged line would not give you "Call Ended" almost immediately.

I have received two calls today, but I can't make any - and neither can my wife - we just get "Call Ended" immediately. However, my work EE SIM works fine, so it looks like a Plusnet problem.
