Blocking a single private number

Is there a way of blocking a number permanently on a Samsung Galaxy apart from using the phones method of doing it?
I dont want to change my number and go through all that hassle just to get someone to leave me alone.

What’s the issue with blocking the number from your phone’s settings? You won’t have to change your number. 

An alternative may be to add Call Protect https://www.plus.net/help/phone/stop-nuisance-calls/
