Re: Not receiving password reminder from Navman Pics

If you look up the SenderBase reputation of the server the newsletter was sent from the extended information usually gives a list of associated mail servers - do any of these have a poor reputation? It's possible the content of the password reminder email looks spammy but that seems unlikely.

Re: Not receiving password reminder from Navman Pics

that is possible, the newsletters came via a.n. other, sorry have never looked up the SenderBase file, I assume it would come from @navman.com

Re: Not receiving password reminder from Navman Pics

Edrops seem to have just the one mailserver (link) which has a "neutral" reputation. The server reverse DNS matches mailfrom.
Navman.com appear to use two mailservers (link), one rated "good" the other "neutral".
In neither case would I expect emails to be rejected by IronPort on a reputation basis.

I'd be inclined to agree.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm eligible to sign up so I can't really try and replicate this. You could turn spam filtering off completely, wait 48 hours and then request the password reminder again?
The IronPorts will greylist emails from time to time which can delay their arrival.

OK, can you define "greylist" please.

Re: Not receiving password reminder from Navman Pics

Greylisting is a way of coping with potential spam. It involves temporarily rejecting a message from an unrecognised sender. Genuine senders will almost certainly try again. (More details).

Re: Not receiving password reminder from Navman Pics

Password reminders from Navpix to an Ironport protected mailbox do appear to vansh into thin air. However …
Headers from a reminder to a non-IronPort filtered address are as follows.

According to SenderBase the reputation of 92.52.110.138 is Neutral, and the message content doesn't look suspicious. However that IP is not listed as a mailserver in the 92.52.110/24 block. Also DNS records for that IP address do not appear to exist and certainly don't match the claimed domain name. Overall it doesn't surprise me that IronPort rejected it.

Re: Not receiving password reminder from Navman Pics

Important email from a *very* badly configured system.
You're right that the email doesn't get past the IronPorts. In fact I've just tried requesting a password reminder to another domain that I have hosted elsewhere, and guess what? That didn't turn up either. I can see it in my SMTP rejection logs though -
  Sender domain not found
  2 P apache@192905-web2.mionavman.com      17:15:49 17:16:26 unknown[92.52.110.138]  192905-web2.mionavman.com

The from address of the password reminder doesn't even come from a resolvable domain -
bobpullen@cshell01:~$ host 192905-web2.mionavman.com
Host 192905-web2.mionavman.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

I'd imagine Postini would probably have done away with this one too. You might want to contact Navman to let them know.
Annoyingly, they seem to reset your password when you request a reminder too, so even if you do remember it at a later date you still can't log in Sad

Dear Pierre
Thanks for the info unfortunately there is not much we can do about that the best solution is what you have already done and sign in with a different username. Also you can get navpix using the Navdesk.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
