Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Have you tried using the serial number of the router as password?

And still no go. I have reset the router via the button on the back .

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Yeah I did a reset via the button as well. But that was while I was trying to program the new firmware without the router resetting all the time. It's definitely reset as the IP has gone back to 192.168.1.254.
I've got an access key on the base of mine which also doesn't work

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Hi Taras,
I'd forgotten about that, we only supply routers without USB ports so all the functionality is removed in our firmware builds...
I've got a copy of the original USB enabled firmware, I'll post a link shortly.

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Hmm, seems I still failing at all this. I can't get a connection to PlusNet with this latest firmware Sad
The error is simply "Concentrator not reachable". I'm on FTTC and I've been through the Connection Wizard and selected Other with a PPPoE connection. I have no idea how to use WAN-Sensing. There doesn't appear a means for me to select a particular LAN port for the WAN connection and auto sensing makes a progress bar move and that appears all. Any guesses on what I'm doing wrong. There are no messages at all in the log about attempting a connection.
Oh and why does configuring the WAN connection in the wizard reset the router's password, it's a real pain.
I think I'll have to change my forum handle to picnir (problem in chair not in router) Wink

Hi Picnic,
This firmware isn't designed for FTTC, it won't work on FTTC without some significant configuration.
If you're interested in having a go then if you do a factory reset then run these commands everything should work fine. Not for the faint hearted though!

Thanks Matt, not really any more scary than the IPv6 Tunnel commands Wink I'll give this ago and let you know how I get on.

I ended up going back to 10.2.0.B firmware as my mobile phones wouldn't connect to the wireless Shocked on the 2.29 version.

I'd suggest Hurricane Electric's Tunnel Broker service. Far better on a number of levels - they own their own equipment (no finger pointing when the POP falls over), no complicated credits system to allow you to 'buy' added features, automated tunnel creation and forums where you can openly discuss anything IPv6-related (including the tunnel service itself). Their certification programme (free) is worthwhile if you want some structure to learning and practising more about IPv6.
