BT charged it all day at cheap rate for a few years a long time ago.

Wasn't that in the days when humans actually controlled the machines rather than just following the prompts? Tongue

Re: xmas day classed as week- end free calls

Our call rating engine understands day of week and time of day, not date & month which would be required to make special days like Christmas Day different to their 'default'.

Well yes, Ben, but that's purely a matter of choice in the way it's been programmed, which will have been for commercial, not technical reasons.
Not a complaint, just saying!

Re: xmas day classed as week- end free calls

I suppose Plusnet could always refund any charges for Christmas calls as an option ?

It would no doubt cost an arm and a leg, so wouldn't be considered!

Re: xmas day classed as week- end free calls

I expect that the trade off between cost and return would be entirely prohibitive Smiley

Re: xmas day classed as week- end free calls

There is also the call costs to PN from BTw to consider.
Remember that big bad BT removed "weekend" rates for bank holidays many, many years ago, I suspect in the sure knowledge that this fact would be lost on the majority of people, who'd still spent hours on the phone to relatives and friends in the mis-guided expectation that the calls are still attracting weekend rates.  Tongue
